The delegation was briefed about the institute, the admission process as well as the trainings offered, and toured the facility. They also watched JMI’s corporate video and a descriptive video of “Akeed”, JMI’s project for monitoring the credibility of the Jordanian media.

Dr. Tweissi talked to the guests about the philosophy JMI adopts in teaching journalism and new media. Despite the challenges affecting the teaching techniques of journalism in the academic institutes of the Arab World, JMI has managed to build a reputation between its counterparts for building skills and capabilities, Tweissi explains. Around 64% of JMI’s graduates are currently working in local, regional and international media outlets.

The 12th Youth of the Arab Capitals Forum is held under the theme “Arab youths and media”, and is organized by the Higher Youth Council in cooperation with the Arab League.
