A five-day workshop entitled “Skills of Voice Placement and Elocution” was held at Jordan Media Institute (JMI) in cooperation with Al Jazeera Media Training and Development Center. The sessions were led by Fadi Matar who is head of training in Arab countries at the International Academy of Radio France, France 24 and Monte Carlo International.
Participants from Jordan, Palestine, Saudi Arabia and Libya were trained on how to captivate the audience with their voices by being aware of their voice and to control and train it to serve the content that they want to convey to the recipients.

Matar pointed out to the connection between people’s voice and their identity and psychological condition. He urged the participants to make the best use of the techniques they learnt to control their voices and continue to practice.
The Saudi participant described the training as extremely useful and said it was the best he had attended in terms of skills and available facilities.
The workshop was the third to be conducted in cooperation with Al Jazeera Media Training and Development Center as part of an agreement signed last year.
Two more training programs for the first quarter of 2016 are in the pipeline for JMI and include advanced news writing and editing skills and short film production.
