JMI Holds Data Journalism Workshop for Students

15 March 2015<br /> <br /> The Jordan Media Institute started a two-day data journalism workshop on Sunday, 15 March 2015 on for its students in cooperation with the UNESCO Office in Amman and supported by the European Union.<br /> <br /> The 44 Master&rsquo;s degree students of both the comprehensive and thesis tracks will be introduced to techniques on how to deal with data and statistics related to youth issues and translate those figures into creative human interest stories.&nbsp; The trainees will also learn to identify useful data and analyze it in order to help explain issues and highlight them to the public and decision makers.<br /> <br /> The sessions are part of the Networks of Mediterranean Youth &ndash; Net-Med Youth Project that is implemented by UNESCO and funded by the EU.<br /> <br /> The project aims to develop knowledge and tools to empower young men and women and help them overcome challenges related to social inclusion, high unemployment and low representation in political and public spheres.&nbsp;
