Project: Support to Media and Information Literacy Clubs in Public Schools

Objectives:

The project aims to strengthening Media and Information Literacy among youth through launching MIL clubs in 15 public schools in Irbid, Zarqa and Ma’an.

Project Description:

The project includes:

  1. Master Training (TOT) for a group of trainers on Media and Information Literacy.
  2. Training a group of teachers in the respective schools on Media and Information Literacy, to ensure organising and running the MIL clubs, and introducing MIL topics in their regular curricula.
  3. Launching MIL clubs in the respective schools and supporting their long-term commitment to sustainability of results.

Project Outputs:

The project is still under way. As of early 2019, the following had been achieved:

  1. Implementing a MIL master training workshop (TOT) for 14 professionals who have experience in journalism and communication.
  2. Implementing a MIL training workshop for 45 teachers from public schools in Ma’an, Irbid and Zarqa governorates.
