As part of an official visit to Jordan, the Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Teodor Baconschi, visited the Jordan Media Institute (JMI) where he met HRH Princess Rym Ali, toured its campus and got familiarized with its programs.
The aim of the visit was to look into the possibilities of cooperation in the media education and training sectors. The Romanian Foreign Minister expressed his appreciation for what JMI has accomplished in less than a year since its official launch, as its first students intake will graduate in February 2011.
Princess Rym said that JMI believes in sharing skills and experiences, which can only benefit students. She underlined the importance of following up the latest world developments as the basis of journalism today.
On another note, the Minister mentioned the possibility of organizing screenings of Romanian films in Amman and visits of Romanian film Directors to Jordan. Princess Rym, as a Board’s member of the Royal Film Commission, welcomed this suggestion.
